mother of pearl inlay
i liked to believe i have a grasp of my identity. in the the context the my time in history, in the clashing of cultures that form my understanding of the world, and environments that i move within and between. it is truthfully it is more a grouping of notions.
this is reflected my in newest work. i have taken two different art forms that laid on the periphery awareness of art as a child. the traditional asian mother pearl inlay lacquer works, and the truly floridan style of cypress wood folk art. fussing these two different styles and then adding pop culture images from si-fi movie, comics, and tv that have burn themselves in to my conciseness.
